Educators

What does it take?

People often ask “what kind of background do you need to become a Kindermusik educator?”  and over the years the answer took on many forms—schooling, experience, temperament  :) etc.

But after 26 years at the helm, I now answer a bit differently —  it’s simple really, you have to REALLY LOVE CHILDREN... and THEIR PARENTS.  You have to understand that we are all  very different and need to be given the space and time to come to the “dance” in our own way and time...one must be patient...wait for it—and the magic will come!  And yes, you must be able to carry a tune while jumping up and down and wiggling, and play three simple instruments, and be able to express your joy of music making with children and their parents

Kindermusik fills me up on a daily basis.  It has become a true passion of my life.  If you are looking for something to fill your soul a couple of mornings a week—give me a call.  Personally, I began my training in 1996 and each summer there-after until I completed each level of the curriculum.  Kindermusik International has since streamlined the training, and brought it on-line.

Lynda Wingerd

Owner/Licensed Kindermusik Educator

Have been teaching for 26 years at the most wonderful job I can think of ...learning with and from small children and their parents through music! Began career in Sales (BS Mktg) for Little Brown Publishing, and then sold pharmaceuticals for a time...then worked for several start-ups before taking a Kindermusik class with my little ones in 1995.  A new career was born. :)

The Kindermusik curriculum is excellent, and allows a person who loves to sing and dance with children to step in and create a magical class in no time.

The joy on the faces of the families that partake in classes year after year is just wonderful to be a part of.  All four stages of the curriculum have their own particular “delicious” moments, however, teaching the  “Young Child” students how to play 3 instruments and reveling with them as they understand each new piece of the puzzle as it is presented, is very cool!
